From time to time, life can feel like an uphill struggle. The place you want to be may feel a world away from where you currently are. Something inside tells you that things are ‘not quite right’ but you don’t know how to go about making those positive changes to improve your life.

Perhaps you are experiencing feelings of stress, depression, anxiety, having difficulties in your relationships, or have found unhealthy ways of coping with pressure such as self-medicating.

You are not alone and certainly do not need to struggle through life. Too often we are told to ‘pull ourselves together!’ Sometimes, it is simply ourselves being overly-critical and aiming for unattainable perfection.

We all have a blueprint or life-script which we operate from without ever giving it a second thought. Our lives are shaped by all kinds of experiences – events, people, our families, friends and broader cultural expectations.

But sometimes doing things in the same way keeps us from growing. We can find ourselves stuck, wondering why patterns keep repeating in our lives (e.g difficult relationships) until the day comes when we become curious as to what lies underneath our decision-making.

Therapy isn’t about learning to think positively or exercising greater self-discipline, it’s about starting to really listen to what your instincts are telling you.

More often than not, clients enter into therapy because their heads are telling them one thing and their feelings are saying another – in psychotherapy terms we call this ‘incongruence.’

Together we will work to address these inner conflicts, develop new strategies, and help you experience a deep sense of self-acceptance. I believe that our pain can be our greatest teacher, and that we innately have the ability to overcome any obstacle no matter how challenging they seem.
